How to Buy Cryptocurrency via PayPay on Binance and Frequently Asked Questions

After completing identity verification (KYC), please log in to the Binance app or website. On the Purchase screen, select [PayPay] as your payment method. Enter the cryptocurrency you wish to purchase and the amount (over 1,000 JPY). Then, link your PayPay account and complete the payment. The cryptocurrency will appear in your account.

Currently, PayPay purchases are only supported in Japanese yen (JPY).

Yes. If you have not completed identity verification (KYC) on Binance, please complete it before purchasing. During the verification process, you will be asked to enter your name in katakana. Please enter your katakana name exactly as it appears on your PayPay account.

If the katakana name registered in your PayPay account does not match the katakana name registered in your Binance identity verification information, the link will fail.

If you need to update your katakana name on PayPay or your bank, please contact PayPay or your bank directly.

If you suspect this is the case and want to update your katakana name on Binance, please contact Binance Customer Support.

Changing the katakana name in your Binance identity verification information generally requires reapplying for identity verification. If you need to change it, please contact Binance Customer Support. 

For changes to your katakana name with your bank or PayPay, please contact your bank or PayPay support.

Versions supporting PayPay purchases will be rolled out starting November 20, 2025. Depending on your region, it may take several days for the update to become available for download. If you cannot update, please try using the web browser version.

The PayPay balance displayed is the sum of “PP Money Balance” and “PP Points (available)”. It does not include pending points, points in use, or PP Money Lite.

On the payment method page of the purchase screen, the market price of the cryptocurrency (JPY or token) is displayed if no purchase quantity is entered. Entering a purchase quantity will show the estimated payment amount.

An error will be displayed, and the purchase will not complete. To ensure smooth purchases, we recommend enabling PayPay's auto-recharge feature.

Payment processing may take some time. After payment completes, please wait a while for the cryptocurrency to appear in your Binance account.

You can select cryptocurrencies available for purchase on Binance that support PayPay payments. Please check the purchase screen.

Binance provides specialized support for issues such as changing katakana names or connection problems, please contact Binance Customer Support.

When you click on the PayPay channel, a pop-up will appear. You can click the [Delete] link to disconnect your PayPay account.

There are no fees incurred when buying crypto with PayPay.

If you have not changed your PayPay app settings, you cannot use PayPay Points on Binance.

To purchase cryptocurrency using PayPay Points on Binance, you may need to change settings within your PayPay account. If you have questions about enabling PayPay Points usage, please contact PayPay support.
