🚨 GOLD IS FACING A VERY INTERESTING MOMENT

Gold has just taken a sharp hit and is now trading around $4,460/oz, close to a two-week low. 📉

You can’t simply send an issued token to an XRPL account that never agreed to hold it. 🔐

On the XRP Ledger, the recipient generally needs to create a Trust Line with the token’s issuer first.

That means:

✅ No Trust Line → the issued token generally can’t be delivered
✅ The wallet effectively opts in to holding the asset
✅ A Trust Line requires 0.2 XRP of reserve
✅ The reserve is released when the Trust Line is removed
✅ On a fresh account, the first two Trust Lines are effectively free from additional reserve requirements

But there’s another layer…

🔑 RequireAuth

An issuer can enable RequireAuth and manually authorize holders before they can establish an authorized Trust Line.

The important part? RequireAuth has to be enabled before the issuer has existing Trust Lines or offers, according to XRPL documentation.

This is one of the interesting design choices behind the XRP Ledger:

👉 You don’t just receive every issued asset someone decides to send you.

Your wallet has mechanisms to control what issued assets it agrees to hold.
