The Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia has completed an investigation into a case against the alleged co-founder of the darknet marketplace #Hydra . The law enforcement officers seized cash and digital currency from the suspect. The total volume of the criminal case materials amounted to 358 volumes, and now they have been sent to court.

During the searches, operatives found large sums of cash. In addition, cryptocurrency was also seized. The total value of the seized property belonging to the accused and his close relatives exceeds 1 billion rubles.

According to law enforcement, the man laundered illegal income through the purchase of upscale real estate. The properties are located in the Moscow region and in Krasnodar Krai. In addition, part of the funds was invested in a legitimate business. As a result, the suspect was charged under three articles of the Criminal Code:

Leading a criminal organization (Article 210).
Illegal sale of narcotic drugs (Article 228.1).
Legalization of criminal proceeds (Article 174.1).

The detention was carried out by officers of the relevant MVD unit together with the FSB.
