Transactions are grouped into blocks. Each block is cryptographically linked to the previous one, creating a chain.
Changing information in an older block changes its cryptographic fingerprint (hash), which can break the links that follow it. This makes altering established records extremely difficult.
🌐 How are transactions verified?
Different blockchains use different consensus mechanisms.
