The most dangerous accounting error in Bitcoin-backed finance is counting the same BTC twice.

That is a failure boundary I would examine closely in Trustless Bitcoin Vaults from BabylonLabs_io.

A vault can remain secure on Bitcoin and still create serious risk if two external applications both treat its collateral as available. Predefined Bitcoin spending paths can restrict how the BTC moves, but they do not automaticaly guarantee that every connected market interprets the vault’s economic commitment consistently.

For TBV, collateral status must remain unambiguous:

when the vault becomes active,
which application is entitled to rely on it,
when that obligation ends,
and when the BTC becomes safely reusable.

The critical transition is between encumbered and free. If one layer releases the position before another has finalized it, the same Bitcoin may appear available while an earlier obligation still exists.

For me, native BTC colateral becomes credible when its financial state is as singular as its ownership.
