Suppose a loan is repaid, but the Bitcoin vault has not yet received the evidence needed to release the collateral.
Which state is the truth?
That edge case is where Trustless Bitcoin Vaults from BabylonLabs_io become most interesting to me.
Native BTC may follow predefined Bitcoin spending conditions while borrowing, repayment, and position status are tracked by an external aplication. Most of the time, those layers should agree.
Security is tested when they temporarily do not.
The system should not release BTC based on incomplete information. But it should not leave a valid user trapped indefinitely because two layers reached the same outcome at different times.
For me, strong TBV design requires a safe disagreement state: no unauthorized movement, no ambiguous authority, and a clear route toward reconciliation.
Normal execution proves that the product works.
Disagreement reveals whether the architecture deserves trust.
