🚨 BINANCE REOPENS WITHDRAWALS — $3.64 BILLION IN NET OUTFLOWS REPORTED!
📅 November 2, 2026
The crypto industry is closely monitoring Binance following its reported $6.3 billion security breach.
🔥 What Happened in the Latest Update?
🔹 Withdrawals resumed: Binance officially announced a phased withdrawal restart on November 1, beginning with selected assets and networks, including $BTC , ETH, BNB, SOL, XRP and DOGE.
🔹 95% recovery claim: Binance told Reuters it had covered approximately 95% of the affected $6.3 billion in assets. The remaining 5% consists of less-liquid tokens.
🔹 Customer withdrawals: Binance reported approximately $3.64 billion in net outflows during the initial withdrawal reopening period. The exchange said this represented around 2.1% of its reported $171 billion in assets.
🔹 On-chain investigation: Blockchain analyst SomaXBT estimated that approximately $242 million of the stolen funds moved through the Tron network over two days. This is an analyst estimate, not a final official FBI total.
🔹 FBI attribution: On October 31, the FBI officially attributed the theft to North Korea's TraderTraitor group and warned that stolen assets were being converted primarily into Ethereum, with further laundering through DeFi and instant-swap services expected.
🔍 My Analysis
Restoring withdrawals is an important operational milestone, but it does not mean the security investigation is complete.
The reported outflow figures also differ between Binance and independent tracking platforms, partly because of differences in wallet coverage and measurement.
The next major tests are independently verifiable reserves, recovery of remaining assets, and publication of a detailed technical incident report.
💬 Community Question:
What should matter most after a major exchange security incident: transparent reserves, independent security audits, or stronger withdrawal safeguards?
