Ethereum learns from Bitcoin to scale the network without sacrificing decentralization
Vitalik Buterin noted that ideas from the Bitcoin world, such as Utreexo, have become a source of inspiration for new Ethereum scaling research.
The goal is not to replace the Ethereum model, but to build a hybrid model that combines the advantages of UTXO and the dynamic state, in order to handle much higher activity while keeping node operations practical and preserving decentralization and censorship resistance.
The most important message:
Real scaling is not just increasing the number of transactions, but increasing capacity while maintaining network health and opening it to as many participants as possible.
If this vision succeeds, it could represent an important step toward a more efficient, long-term scalable Ethereum.
