Honestly, Binance’s response this time is kind of moving


Binance was hacked for $6.3 billion this time. Do you realize how much that is? We’re not talking tens of millions or a few hundred million—it’s an astronomical sum, enough to bring many exchanges down outright. It could even be equivalent to a large exchange’s entire annual profit.

Yet Binance not only promised to cover users’ losses, but—before the situation was even fully resolved—also put up 20 million USDC for a promotion, plus another 100 USDC in fee-rebate vouchers.

Of course, the 20 million isn’t being handed out for free. Everyone still has to meet requirements like trading volume. But at least they’ve put up a genuinely huge prize pool.

Now look at a certain O exchange. The more I think about it, the angrier I get.

I took part in one of their prediction promotions before, and after putting in all that effort for so long, just as the promotion was about to end, they suddenly told me my account didn’t meet their requirements and I couldn’t claim the reward.

I was so pissed! It wasn’t even hundreds or thousands of U—just 5 U.

Do I really care about that 5 U? No! It’s about how the platform treats its users.

You can set rules, and you can review accounts, but the rules should be made clear in advance—not after users have already spent time taking part, only to be told at the end that they don’t qualify.

Of course, Binance isn’t without its problems. It’s paid plenty in regulatory fines over the years, and there really have been security vulnerabilities on the platform. This hack absolutely needs to be investigated and accountability taken seriously.

But those are separate issues.

When an exchange is doing well, handing out perks to users isn’t much of an achievement. What really puts a platform to the test is whether it’s willing to take responsibility when something serious happens.

At least in this case, I think Binance really deserves a thumbs-up.

At the end of the day, users have never wanted just rewards—they want to be treated with respect.

Do the 100 USDC from #ThankYouBinancians go directly to your account?

This is one of the first things worth clarifying about Binance’s new appreciation campaign.

The 100 USDC benefit is a Spot Fee Rebate Voucher for eligible users who have completed identity verification within the specified period. Once available and activated, the voucher lets you recover 30% of eligible remaining Spot fees each day after deducting referral commissions, up to its limit.

The corresponding rebates are credited in USDC to your Spot account.

There’s another important detail: the voucher may not appear immediately. Distribution timelines depend on when identity verification was completed. Once distributed, it must be claimed within 15 days. If activated, it expires 30 days after distribution.

You can check your available rewards under Profile → Rewards Center. If you don’t see the voucher, first check regional eligibility and the official timelines before assuming there’s a problem with your account.

A few days ago, the whole crypto world was talking about the Binance hack. At $6.3 billion, it would be a massive test for any exchange.

From the initial user panic, to Binance promising to cover the losses, to withdrawals gradually returning to normal, these past few days have really shown how a major exchange can handle a crisis.

And now Binance has announced a community rewards campaign!

Honestly, after such a major security incident, being able to offer rewards on this scale to users takes real resolve.

Of course, I’m not going to say Binance has no problems just because of one campaign. The security vulnerability should be investigated, those responsible should be held accountable, and the remaining assets still need to be recovered.
