Germany prepares to buy Ukraine’s Bars missiles for military trials

📰 Berlin is expected to sign an initial purchase agreement in the coming weeks. Bundeswehr technical trials are planned for early 2027, with a potential order for several hundred missiles if testing succeeds.

🚀 Bars is a low-cost cruise missile with a range of up to 1,000 km, depending on the variant. A Ukrainian–German joint venture already manufactures it in Germany and delivered its first batch to Ukraine in October.

🇩🇪 If completed, the deal would mark the Bundeswehr’s first known purchase of Ukrainian-developed offensive weapons for its own use.
