The Executive once again turned its attention—along with the technicians—toward the Simón Bolívar Hydroelectric Power Plant, that huge structure in Bolívar state that we all know as El Guri. The Sectorial Vice Presidency for Public Works and Services led a technical inspection to review operating maneuvers and the condition of the generating units, with a clear goal: to add megawatts to the National Electric System. Sector vice president Juan José Ramírez Luces put it plainly: more than 70% of the electricity the country consumes is produced there. The tour also included the Minister of Electric Energy, Rolando Alcalá, along with Corpoelec specialists and national and regional authorities.
