What is Event Trading?
In event trading, participants bet on the future price movement of cryptocurrencies. For example, you predict whether BTC will be above or below a specific price at a given time. If your prediction is correct, you earn; otherwise, you lose your investment.

Why Is It Considered Haram?
In Islam, gambling (Qimar) and speculation (Gharar) are strictly prohibited. Event trading shares characteristics of these practices:

1. Gharar (Excessive Uncertainty):

Event trading involves uncertainty, as no one can precisely predict the future price of cryptocurrencies. This level of risk falls under Gharar, which is forbidden in Islam.

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:

"Whoever engages in Gharar-based transactions will not prosper."

(Musnad Ahmad, Hadith 15726)

2. Qimar (Gambling):

Event trading is essentially betting on the rise or fall of an asset's price, making it akin to gambling. Gambling is clearly prohibited in the Qur'an:

"O you who believe! Intoxicants, gambling, sacrificing to stones, and divination by arrows are an abomination of Satan’s handiwork. Avoid it so that you may succeed."

(Surah Al-Ma’idah, 5:90)

The Islamic Alternative
Instead of engaging in speculative trades, Muslims can focus on halal investments that involve:

✅ Real ownership of assets.

✅ Transparent and fair transactions.

✅ Avoiding interest-based (Riba) practices.

Although event trading might seem lucrative, it contradicts the principles of halal trade in Islam. As Muslims, we must avoid practices that compromise our faith for worldly gain.
