Every modern city hides its true economy inside the utility meter not the power station. That idea kept coming back to me while I was studying Newton Protocol. I expected $NEWT to simply fuel a network, but the deeper pattern was different: automated trust becomes economically fragile unless every permission carries a measurable cost.
What changed my mind was not the token itself. It was what I think of as Permission Gravity. zkPermissions, operator collateral, and marketplace fees are not isolated features they create incentives for authorization to function as a priced economic service instead of an invisible resource. The real mechanism isn't transaction execution; its the metering of machine decisions before execution ever begins.
Here's the tension that seems easy to miss. The more autonomous agents rely on delegated authorization, the more valuable the network can become but only if that delegation keeps happening. Capability doesn't create value by itself; repeated behavioral commitment does.
The bigger question may have nothing to do with throughput. If autonomous finance becomes the norm, the real competition will not be over processing transactions but over becoming the infrastructure that every wallet trusts to approve them. Attention can launch a token, but only repeatable authorization behavior can sustain one.

Imagine giving an AI agent access to your wallet.
At first, it works perfectly. It swaps tokens, manages positions and follows your instructions. Over time, you stop checking every action because automation feels convenient.
