Making money is not hard, protecting it is.
That's why everyone wants to be a Trader, no one wants to be a Risk Manager.

5 days ago, what I learned in theory happened live.

On 29 Oct 2026, Binance lost $6.34 BILLION. Here is what actually happened (from their official report):

*1. The Exploit:* Attackers didn't steal a private key. They abused Ethereum's EIP-7702. It lets a smart contract get partial control of a wallet without the private key. They submitted 50 fake signing txs, hijacked the nonce, and took over hot wallets.

*2. The Scale:* In 4 minutes (20:05 - 20:09 UTC) - 233.46M XRP, 970,500 SOL, 44.2M OP gone. Then another 18,270 BTC.

*3. The Hard Truth:* Suspending withdrawals DIDN'T stop it. Because the malicious EIP-7702 authorization lived ON-CHAIN. And because Binance uses MPC (no single private key), they couldn't revoke it with one click. They had to build a custom procedure to revoke it.

Result: $2.85B was frozen by quick coordination. 98% of user funds already replenished.

My takeaway from Binance Academy - *Crypto Risk Management* course:
Governance failure always comes before technical failure. Containment > Blame.

Alhamdulillah, I completed my certification as *mr_btc_boss* just before this incident. Now I understand - Risk is not the enemy, Risk is the strategy.
