Bitcoin is camped under $80K with the Fed about to speak — and nobody wants to blink first.

Tomorrow at 2pm ET, the FOMC decides — a hold is overwhelmingly expected. So why is everyone holding their breath? The decision isn't the event. The statement is: what Chair Warsh signals about December.

1. The $80K line is the whole game

Bitcoin slipped below $80K, near $79.7K, down about 0.5% in 24 hours. Ethereum fell harder — check $ETH near $2,306. The setup: $79K sweep low, $80K range low to reclaim, $81K flip to bullish, $83K the line that voids one bear's roadmap. Pull up $BTC against those levels — a break either way into tomorrow's statement could set the tone for weeks.

History says don't assume the direction: in March 2025, an expected hold popped Bitcoin from around $84K to $87K, but after the September and October 2025 cuts it sold off anyway. Positioning beats the headline — and right now it's nervous: liquidations stayed small (about $121M in a scoped 24-hour window). Traders aren't piling in. They're waiting.

2. The treasury buyers just split in two

Strive bought 6,182 BTC for about $511M between October 17 and 23, at an average of $82,732, lifting its stack to 43,000 BTC, per its October 26 filing. In the same week, Strategy — the biggest corporate holder — bought zero: holdings flat at 848,517 BTC, while $204.9M went into buying back its own STRC preferred shares.

Here's what this really means: the "corporate bid" isn't one story anymore. One treasury is accelerating into the dip; the other is tidying its balance sheet. Watch which behavior spreads.

3. Ripple just got its bank

On October 26, the OCC granted final approval for Ripple National Trust Bank, a federally supervised trust bank that will manage the reserves behind the RLUSD stablecoin and offer digital asset custody. CEO Brad Garlinghouse called it crypto working inside the system, not outside it.

The honest read: this charter is about RLUSD and custody, not a direct XRP catalyst — XRP traded around $1.31, up only about 1%. But the direction matters more than one day's price.

4. Sony's chain is getting a token — for intellectual property

Soneium, Sony's Ethereum layer-2, announced October 26 it plans a Soneium token built around "tokenized IP," with IP Vault and IP Bond products. No token exists yet, no supply or tokenomics disclosed. Still, a major entertainment brand is moving to an IP economy — royalties, characters, content rights, on-chain. While traders obsess over the Fed, builders keep shipping. That's how next cycle's leaders get built — quietly, in boring weeks.

The payoff: tomorrow's statement decides whether $80K is a floor or a trapdoor. Watch Warsh's December language, the $80K reclaim or $79K sweep, and whether treasury buyers follow Strive or Strategy. The market isn't reacting to bad news. It's bracing for news that hasn't come yet.
