China’s Ministry of State Security has warned that crypto transactions should not be considered truly anonymous or untraceable.
The ministry says blockchain records are transparent and can allow transaction flows to be traced, while wallet activity may be linked to real identities through other data.
It also warned that foreign intelligence agencies could use crypto-related incentives as part of espionage recruitment efforts.
Crypto may be pseudonymous — but that doesn’t mean invisible.
