Most key theft is not clever social engineering. It is software already running on the device: something that reads what you type, watches your screen, or quietly swaps the address in your clipboard for the attacker's.
That last one deserves attention, because it defeats copy and paste - the habit everyone is told to rely on. You copy the right address and paste a different one, and nothing looks wrong. This is why verifying the pasted address after pasting, not before, is the check that actually works, and why the device you sign transfers on matters as much as where you store the keys.
