SOLANA'S $SOL ALPENGLOW UPGRADE HITS TESTNET 🚀

Solana’s core team launched the Alpenglow consensus upgrade on the community testnet, marking the largest protocol architecture change to date. The upgrade targets reduced finality times and improved validator efficiency, with a potential mainnet activation as early as the next quarter.

The Alpenglow consensus upgrade, now live on Solana’s community testnet, represents the most extensive architectural shift in the protocol’s history. By moving from the hybrid PoH‑TowerBFT model to a streamlined validator communication layer, the upgrade aims to cut finality from seconds to near‑real‑time, addressing current congestion and downtime concerns. Successful testing could pave the way for a mainnet rollout as early as next quarter, potentially enhancing Solana’s appeal to institutional traders seeking high‑throughput, low‑latency networks.
