🏦 Blockchain just moved another step closer to traditional finance.

The European Central Bank has officially launched Pontes, a new infrastructure that allows wholesale transactions in tokenised assets to settle using central-bank money.

This matters because tokenisation is moving beyond experiments.

Major financial institutions have already completed initial onboarding, while the ECB is also preparing to invest a small portion of its own funds in tokenised securities to gain real-world experience with the technology.

The bigger picture: blockchain’s next major growth story may not be driven only by new crypto tokens. It could increasingly come from traditional financial assets moving onto digital infrastructure.

That doesn’t automatically mean higher crypto prices — but it is another concrete sign that distributed-ledger technology is becoming part of institutional finance.
