"Prepare for the possibility of losing on this bet" and have the mindset to accept stop-loss when facing a large floating loss in one's account.
It's not just preferable, but a must to accept.
Has anyone noticed that this July, some trader KOLs are unable to speak or have directly withdrawn from the circle, mainly concentrated among those who have been trading for 1-3 years?
Many people develop a dependency on the previous trend market, from "following the bearish trend" to "treating it as a range to trade," and then gradually miss the opportunity. When the market has completely moved out, it evolves into "can't stand it at all, just let it die."
In the end, when the account is close to zero, one realizes that a new trend has actually been in place for a long time, others have already made money for a long time, but one has been swept away in a wave of acceleration.
Many "old hands" can avoid this kind of problem because they have lived in the market for a long time, requiring a bit of: "Never be above the market, always respect market changes."
You can only do retracement/backtesting orders against the higher-level trend in a range and ignore short-term fluctuations while sticking to your judgment.
However, you cannot stubbornly only do what you want after the market chooses a direction; this is not perseverance or taking a gamble, it's foolishness...
Understanding when to acknowledge mistakes, after insisting on one's position and achieving results multiple times, one can also accept that their trading logic has had an oversight this time, adjust in time, and not stubbornly fight against the market.
