🔐 Reused Bitcoin addresses now hold 4.33M $BTC
New Glassnode data shows that 4.33 million BTC sits in addresses that have been reused. That’s about 21.5% of circulating supply, up from 3.79 million BTC a year earlier (roughly +14%).
Why it matters: when an address is reused, its public key becomes visible on-chain. Adding it to coins that are exposed by design, total exposure is about 6.26M BTC, or 31.2% of supply, the highest level since around 2016.
Key points:
🔹 1.94M BTC is exposed structurally, including about 1.71M in legacy P2PK outputs and 222K under visible Taproot keys
🔹 About 1.10M BTC in P2PK is linked to Satoshi Nakamoto
🔹 Most of the avoidable exposure comes from address reuse, which is often manual habit or custodial setups
🔹 Moving coins to a fresh address removes the exposure for those coins
What you can do:
✅ Use a modern wallet that generates a new receiving address every time
✅ Don’t send to the same address twice
✅ If you have funds on an old reused address, plan a move to a fresh one and account for the on-chain fee
This is a privacy and security hygiene issue, not a sign that anything has been hacked.

цікаво шо ці дві новини разом показують два протилежні полюси крипти, з одного боку люди які тримали монети роками нарешті рухаються, з іншого боку вся індустрія вже думає на 10-20 років вперед про загрози яких ще навіть не існує

я вважаю шо підготовка до квантової загрози зараз це більш важлива новина ніж будь-який денний рух ціни, скажи якщо думаєш інакше
