🍿 50 000 BTC в банке из-под попкорна. История на $3,36 млрд!

В 2012 году Джеймс Чжун обнаружил уязвимость на Silk Road — одной из крупнейших даркнет-площадок.

Он научился обманывать систему вывода средств и с помощью множества быстрых транзакций похитил около 50 000 BTC.

💰 На тот момент добыча стоила примерно $620 000.

Но Чжун не продал всё сразу. Он годами скрывал биткоины, пока их стоимость росла. После форка Bitcoin Cash в 2017 году он получил ещё 50 000 BCH и обменял их примерно на 3 500 BTC.

🕵️ В ноябре 2021 года агенты ФБР обыскали его дом в Джорджии. Часть криптовалюты обнаружили на компьютере, спрятанном в банке из-под попкорна под одеялами в шкафу ванной. Остальное нашли в тайнике под полом.

Всего власти изъяли более 50 000 BTC стоимостью около $3,36 млрд.

⚖️ В 2022 году Чжун признал вину в мошенничестве с использованием электронных средств связи, а в апреле 2023-го получил 1 год и 1 день тюрьмы.

📌 Он украл биткоины стоимостью сотни тысяч долларов и наблюдал, как они превратились в миллиарды.
