A new development has emerged in the massive Bybit hack. A U.S federal judge has granted Bybit expedited discovery allowing the exchange to seek information from platforms with U.S operations that could help identify where some of the stolen crypto moved.
The hack, attributed by the FBI to North Korea _linked actors, involved roughly 💲1.5 billion in crypto assets. The important part👇
Bybit can now pursue information about suspected intermediary accounts, balances and transaction histories . This doesn't mean the full💲1.5B has been recovered but Binance blockchain transactions can remain traced even after funds move through multiple wallets, investigators may still be able to follow portions of the stolen assets.
