Indian stocks rebound after four-day decline, but momentum remains unconvincing
📈 The Sensex rose 0.48% to 76,515.43, while the Nifty 50 gained just 0.10% to 23,897.70. Nifty briefly moved above 24,000 intraday but failed to hold the level, highlighting continued market divergence.
🏦 Metals led gains with a 1.07% rise, supported by financials, private banks and oil & gas. However, both Sensex and Nifty still fell nearly 1% for the week, with Nifty posting a fourth consecutive weekly decline.
💰 FIIs remained net sellers at ₹3,112 crore, while DIIs bought a net ₹8,930 crore, showing that domestic flows continue to absorb foreign selling pressure.
⚠️ Elevated oil prices and tensions around the Strait of Hormuz remain key risks. Monday’s session will be an important test as Indian markets fully price in the U.S. jobs report released after Friday’s close.
