Base announces the launch of Azul on mainnet

#Base has launched #Azul on mainnet, marking its first independent network upgrade since separating from Optimism’s Superchain. The upgrade’s multiproof framework combines TEE proofs with zero-knowledge proofs to reduce centralization. Either proof type can independently finalize a proposal, while agreement between both can shorten withdrawal finality to as little as one day.

Azul also unifies Base under a single execution client, base-reth-node, while introducing base-consensus, a new consensus client built on OP Kona. The upgrade notably marks Base’s first independently executed network upgrade.
