Meme coins are risky because their prices mainly depend on hype, emotion, and speculation rather than any real utility or business foundation. They suffer from extreme volatility, high chances of rug pulls and whale manipulation, low liquidity, and the ease of creating scam projects. As a result, most meme coins eventually go to near zero, making investing in them similar to high-risk gambling.
$ZEN has future potential. Why can we be somewhat optimistic? They have moved away from being an old Proof-of-Work privacy coin and have restarted as a Privacy-focused Layer 3 on Base. The current focus is on compliant privacy + Confidential Compute (TEE) — which is more relevant for institutions and real-world use cases. Staking has been launched, a builder program is ongoing, and the Confidential Compute Environment (HCCE) is coming. Being connected to the Base ecosystem gives better liquidity and developer access than before. These are positive steps.
