The last NFP was significantly better than expected, and that the labor market shows high robustness. The market is at the peak of uncertainty just before the CPI inflation data is coming out; the Fed has a difficult choice in this situation. For me, my conviction is that Fed will keep the rate constant rather than raising it but maintain it higher for a while to completely cool inflation.
As far as direction goes on the market, I remain bearish short-term. I think that the strong data with sticky CPI would cause delays for cuts, that risk assets will probably slide and thus I should defend my portfolio using cash equivalents.
I am now realizing profit on my current trade with a gold trade. It looks like dollar strength is a very temporary negative pressure that I'll use to my benefit by hedging on gold.
