The Fed decision is today's headline—but crypto is being driven by a much bigger macro setup.
CME FedWatch is pricing roughly a 92% probability of a 25-bp hike, while the U.S. 10-year Treasury recently pushed above 5%, its highest level since 2007. Brent crude is around $108, adding another inflation risk.
At the same time, the U.S. Senate failed to advance the CLARITY Act in a 49–50 procedural vote, adding regulatory uncertainty to an already difficult crypto environment.
So what actually matters for crypto? Not just the Fed Funds rate.
1. Fed policy — Is monetary policy getting tighter? 2. 10Y Treasury — Are long-term yields tightening financial conditions? 3. Inflation — Is the oil shock feeding into prices? 4. Brent crude — Is energy creating another inflation problem? 5. USD — Is dollar strength tightening global liquidity? 6. BTC ETF flows — Is institutional demand returning or retreating? 7. Stablecoin liquidity — Is crypto-native liquidity expanding? 8. Leverage — Are derivatives amplifying the move? 9. Regulation — Is U.S. policy becoming clearer or more uncertain? 10. BTC vs. liquidity — Is Bitcoin behaving as macro conditions would suggest?
The key takeaway Don't trade the Fed headline. Understand the liquidity regime.
A 25-bp hike is only one data point.
What matters next is how the Fed communicates the path forward, how Treasury yields respond, what happens to the dollar and oil, and whether institutional crypto flows absorb the pressure.

#FedRateWatch #FedMeeting The September Fed decision looks increasingly like a case of "buy the rumor, sell the reaction." August CPI showed headline inflation at 3.4% YoY, while core CPI rose 0.3% MoM. That was enough to push the market toward a very high probability of a 25bp hike, according to Bureau of Statistics.
But I don't think the hike itself is the most important variable anymore. If the Fed delivers 25bp as expected, the market will immediately focus on the path after September.
For BTC, that creates two scenarios. 💥Hawkish hike: If the Fed signals additional hikes because inflation remains persistent, liquidity conditions could tighten further. That would be bearish for BTC and high-beta tech in the short term. 💥One-and-done hike: If the Fed raises 25bp but signals that policy is now sufficiently restrictive, the initial volatility could become a buying opportunity. In that case, BTC could recover as markets begin looking beyond the hike toward eventual easing. My approach is therefore not to chase the FOMC candle.
📒I am already using a predefined BTC/ETH/SOL deployment plan. The goal is to deploy capital at predetermined lower levels rather than trying to predict the exact reaction to Powell's press conference.
For me, the important signal isn't simply "25bp hike or no hike." It's whether the Fed tells the market: "We're tightening further" or "We've tightened enough." That distinction matters far more for crypto's next major move. I would rather let volatility come to my limit orders than chase it.
