I've been watching DUSK a little differently lately.
Not because it's making the loudest noise on CT. Actually, that's the interesting part.
Crypto loves transparency until transparency becomes a problem.
Imagine putting serious financial activity onchain while every position, transaction, relationship, and movement can potentially become public. That's fine for speculation. It's a very different story for real financial applications.
This is where Dusk Network caught my attention.
DUSK is building a layer 1 focused on privacy for financial applications, with confidential smart contracts and its Confidential Security Contract, XSC, standard.
And honestly, I think the privacy narrative is still misunderstood.
It's not always about hiding everything.
Sometimes it's about controlling what should be visible, while still allowing the system to remain verifiable and functional.
That's a much bigger conversation.
I've seen crypto narratives arrive late before. First nobody cares. Then a few people start watching. Then suddenly everyone acts like they discovered it yesterday.
Maybe DUSK follows that path.
Maybe it doesn't.
That's the part I like.
The market hasn't fully decided what privacy infrastructure is worth yet.
And when the market hasn't decided, things can get very interesting very quickly.
