#MichaelSaylor 🚀 Michael Saylor Proposes a "Digital Bill of Rights" for the AI and Blockchain Era
MicroStrategy co-founder Michael Saylor has published an essay calling for a shift away from strict restrictions in favor of fundamental freedoms for digital assets. He believes that artificial intelligence has the potential to dramatically boost global productivity, but unlocking this potential requires superior forms of money and capital markets.
The value of any asset depends on what the owner can do with it. Restrictions on utility stifle economic potential, so Saylor proposes five fundamental rights:
1️⃣ Creation — the right to develop new digital assets.
2️⃣ Issuance — the ability to bring them to market to finance businesses.
3️⃣ Custody — the right to self-custody assets or choose a custodian.
4️⃣ Transfer — the freedom to move assets between wallets, individuals, and companies.
5️⃣ Usage — the ability to spend, invest, earn, and borrow against digital assets.
📊 Market Context:
Saylor’s strategy is backed by action. After a brief pause, MicroStrategy purchased an additional 950 BTC for $75.7 million (at an average price of $79,670). The company’s total holdings have reached 846,000 BTC (valued at approximately $63.8 billion, with an average purchase price of $75,416). Bitcoin is currently trading around $84,500.
