I’ve usually thought about fixed-rate markets from the simplest angle: choose a rate, lock it in, and wait for maturity. Looking at how TermMax is structured made that assumption feel incomplete.

TermMax uses FT, XT, and GT as part of its mechanism, while FT can remain tradable before maturity. Its markets also use range orders built around pricing curves, rather than treating pricing as a single fixed point.

That made me look at it differently.

The more interesting part is what happens to pricing as time passes. TermMax’s market mechanism accounts for the time remaining until maturity, so maturity is not simply an endpoint sitting outside the pricing process.

That creates something I want to observe closely: how do these mechanisms behave in real market conditions when the available pricing ranges change while the time remaining to maturity keeps shrinking?

I don’t know what that behavior will look like in practice.

That is exactly why I want to watch this in practice.
