Ethereum and Coinbase-backed Base have reportedly ended their effort to create a common account-abstraction standard after months of technical discussions.

Both proposals aim to make crypto wallets more flexible, including features such as programmable transaction validation, alternative authentication methods and improved user experiences.
But now comes the interesting part

If both approaches eventually reach production, wallet developers and applications supporting both Ethereum and Base may need to handle different native transaction formats.
