We are doomed. Greed will destroy humanity. It's only a matter of time. The wrong people are running countries. Concepts such as law, order, and morality only have meaning when they are based on equality. The harsh truth of this world is that when money speaks, the truth falls silent. And when power speaks, even money takes three steps back. Those who make the rules are often the first to break them. Rules are chains for the weak and tools for the powerful.

Google to Pay $700 Million to Android Users Following Play Store Settlement A federal court has approved a $700 million settlement resolving an antitrust lawsuit against Google over alleged monopolistic practices involving Android app distribution and in-app payments through the Google Play Store. According to the Washington State Attorney General’s Office, the settlement addresses claims that Google’s practices led consumers to pay excessive fees of up to 30% on certain transactions. The five-year case will provide compensation to eligible consumers nationwide. Washington residents are expected to receive approximately $13 million, with around 2.4 million people potentially eligible. Most of the payments will go to consumers who made Google Play purchases between August 2021 and July 2026. Most eligible consumers will not need to file a claim. Payments will generally be distributed through PayPal or Venmo, with an alternative claims process available for those unable to receive funds through either service. The settlement also requires Google to make several changes to Google Play. For at least five years, developers will be allowed to offer alternative payment systems, inform users about potentially cheaper purchasing options outside Google’s billing system, and distribute apps through competing app stores without retaliation. Android users will also be able to install apps from sources outside the Google Play Store for at least seven years. Washington Attorney General Nick Brown said the settlement represents an important step in holding major technology companies accountable for alleged anticompetitive practices. Google has denied any wrongdoing.

Paolo Ardoino has put an end to rumors about Tether launching its own network — the company is NOT building a blockchain and has no plans to do so. The strategy remains unchanged — USDT will continue to operate across multiple networks, while Tether will remain neutral toward any specific “transport layer.” The rumors were sparked by reports that placed Tether alongside Stripe and Circle, which are developing their own infrastructure for stablecoins.

85 seconds to midnight: The Doomsday Clock has set a new alarming record — the world is effectively “creeping” toward a nuclear apocalypse, reports The Washington Post. The US and Russia, which together possess 86% of the world’s nuclear arsenal, are without an active strategic arms limitation treaty for the first time since 1972. China is expanding its nuclear arsenal, which now exceeds 600 warheads. South Korea and Japan also want to develop their own nuclear arsenals. In South Korea, around 70% of citizens support developing their own nuclear weapons. The publication makes a grim prediction for all humanity: the more nations possess nuclear weapons, the greater the risk of miscalculation and uncontrolled escalation. Subscribe for updates

A minor split has emerged within the Bitcoin community — supporters of BIP-110 sought to restrict the inclusion of unnecessary data such as Ordinals in the blockchain, but received support from less than 3% of miners. As a result, they moved to a separate chain, which mined only two blocks before effectively stalling, while the regular Bitcoin network continued operating as usual. Ledger separately warned that transferring coins from this chain could be risky due to the lack of replay protection. Earlier, a developer embedded a 66 KB image directly into a Bitcoin transaction — without Taproot, OP_RETURN, or any of the restrictions proposed by BIP-110. Subscribe for updates
