I used to think Bitcoin only had two jobs sit there as savings or Move from wallet to wallet as payment.
Anything past that felt like it was stretching the asset into something it wasn't built for.
Then I started reading about how Babylon lets BTC secure other Proof of Stake networks without wrapping it bridging it or handing custody to some third party.
That idea sat weird with me at first.
Bitcoin has always been the asset that just sits untouched Almost stubborn in its simplicity.
But a trustless vault flips that.
The coin stays yours self custodied verifiable on-chain while its economic weight gets borrowed by a chain that needs security.
It's not Bitcoin becoming something else, it's Bitcoin doing something it was quietly capable of the whole time.
I keep going back and forth on whether this changes what "holding Bitcoin" even means going forward.
If idle BTC can start backing consensus for other ecosystems does that make it more valuable or Does it just add a layer of risk we haven't fully priced in yet. Watching @BabylonLabs_io and $BABY I'm still not sure.
