🚨 $6.3 BILLION CRYPTO HEIST?! Binance Hacked Through a Fake Job Interview!

What's shocking? The attack didn't begin with a typical password breach. Instead, it started with something that sounds completely ordinary: a job interview!

According to Binance's investigation, the attackers posed as recruiters from a fake company and invited a Binance engineer to participate in a recruitment process. After gaining the victim's trust, they asked the engineer to download a file containing programming code as part of a technical assessment.

However, the file reportedly contained malware that allowed hackers to infiltrate the company's internal systems.

The attack is believed to have been planned months in advance, involving other employees' devices and the use of AI technology to expand access to Binance's wallet infrastructure.

🔍 Who was behind the attack?

The FBI linked the incident to a hacking group associated with North Korea. However, the North Korean government has denied the allegations.

Meanwhile, Binance stated that it had frozen or intercepted approximately $2.85 billion in related assets and compensated around 98% of the affected assets using company funds.

This incident is a reminder that the biggest threats in crypto don't always come from market crashes or price volatility. Sometimes, the weakest link is human trust and a single security vulnerability.
