🏩 Tokenization could change finance. But don't confuse growth with maturity.

Tokenization means representing an asset — such as a bond, fund or share — digitally on a blockchain.

Why are people paying attention?
đŸ”č Potentially faster settlement
đŸ”č More programmable financial services
đŸ”č Possible fractional ownership
đŸ”č New ways to move and manage assets

But there is another side to the story.
The IMF has highlighted risks involving fragmented platforms, liquidity, legal uncertainty and financial stability. Its recent analysis puts tokenized assets outside repo markets at around $65 billion — meaningful, but still small relative to traditional financial markets.

The lesson?
A growing market isn't automatically a safe market, and a token isn't automatically valuable because it uses blockchain.

For any tokenized asset, ask:
What real asset or claim does it represent?
Who legally holds or safeguards that asset?
Where does liquidity come from?
What happens if the platform or issuer fails?

Do you think tokenization's biggest impact will be in bonds, stocks, funds or payments?
