bStocks Decoded: Episode 4 - The 1:1 Backing
WHAT’S ACTUALLY BEHIND A bStock? 🔎
One of the first questions I would ask about any tokenized real-world asset is simple: what backs the token?
With bStocks, each token is backed 1:1 by the corresponding underlying U.S. share held in custody. Binance also provides a Proof of Collateral page where the backing can be publicly checked.
This is important because “tokenized” by itself doesn’t tell you what the structure actually is.
A blockchain token could represent many different things. The real question is what the token represents, how it is backed, where the underlying asset is held, and what rights the holder actually has.
With bStocks, the model is designed around a 1:1 relationship between the tokenized security and the corresponding share held in custody.
So when you hear “1:1 backed,” don’t just read the words.
Understand what is behind the token.
Crypto involves risk. Not financial advice. bStocks are not stocks or shares and do not represent direct ownership of the underlying company.
