đš $BTC CLEARS $85,200 â BUT THE BREAKOUT JUST GOT REJECTED. TRADE THE LEVEL, NOT THE HEADLINE.
Bitcoin surged through $85,200 and briefly reached roughly $85,600 after softer U.S. inflation data gave risk assets an immediate boost. August core PCE came in at 3.0% YoY versus 3.3% expected, helping ease near-term fears of further Fed tightening.
But hereâs the part traders shouldnât ignore:
BTC failed to hold the breakout.
After clearing $85K, Bitcoin quickly slipped back below $84K. That turns the $85.2Kâ$85.6K zone into the key battleground, rather than confirmation that a new leg higher has already started.
đ Bull trigger: A sustained reclaim above $85.5Kâ$86.2K would put Septemberâs ~$87.3K high back into focus.
đ Bear trigger: Continued rejection followed by a loss of $82.5Kâ$83K would weaken the current recovery structure and bring the $81Kâ$82K area back into play.
Thereâs another warning: roughly $55M in BTC shorts were liquidated within four hours around the spike, meaning part of the acceleration came from forced positioning rather than necessarily fresh spot demand.
$BTC just showed its hand. Now the question is simple: was $85,200 the breakout⊠or the liquidity grab before another rejection? đ
