Suppose you supply two tokens to a Uniswap v3 liquidity position and leave its price range unchanged.

As swaps move the pool price toward one edge, your holding shifts toward one token. Beyond that edge, all the liquidity you supplied is in that token. Other positions in the pool may still be earning swap fees while yours is inactive. This is standard v3 behavior.

You can leave the liquidity there. If the pool price returns inside your range, the position becomes active again and can earn swap fees. No new position is needed for that return to activity.

Waiting, though, means holding the single token you ended up with, without new swap fees from that position while it remains outside the range. Before choosing the boundaries, decide whether that holding would suit you even if the price stays outside.
