Ondo Finance is pushing further into Europe, giving eligible investors on the continent access to tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs directly onchain. The expansion marks a notable step in the broader effort to bring traditional Wall Street assets onto public blockchain infrastructure.
Assetera Handles the Regulatory Layer
The distribution is being handled by Assetera, a regulated trading platform based in Austria that allows partners to offer tokenized financial products like stocks and ETFs without applying for their own MiFID license. Assetera holds both MiFID II and VASP licenses, with an ongoing upgrade to meet MiCA standards. By managing the entire issuance, distribution, and settlement process, the platform removes the regulatory burden for partners looking to offer tokenized securities in Europe.
Through Assetera's MiFID II-regulated platform, eligible European investors will get access to 450+ tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs, with more than 100 already live. The full product range is projected to cover hundreds of U.S. stocks and ETFs by Q4 2026.
How the Tokens Work
Each token issued through the platform represents an underlying security. Every onchain token is fully collateralized by the underlying stock held in custody. That structure means investors hold an onchain instrument with a direct claim on the real-world asset, rather than a synthetic or derivative product, distributed across 30 EU and EEA markets.
The partnership builds on Ondo Finance's broader European push. Authorization from the Liechtenstein Financial Market Authority extends across the EEA through its passporting regime, enabling Ondo to serve investors in 30 European countries, with regulated onchain exposure to U.S. markets accessible to more than 500 million potential investors.
Ondo Finance's tokenized equities platform has also reached a significant milestone globally. In less than eight months, Ondo Global Markets became the first tokenized stock and ETF platform to reach $1 billion in TVL. The platform holds over 70% market share among tokenized equity issuers and has generated over $18 billion in cumulative trading volume, live across Solana, BNB Chain, and Ethereum.
The move reflects growing momentum in the real-world asset sector, where tokenization platforms are racing to bring regulated, onchain exposure to conventional financial markets to investors outside the United States.
