🔥 CAN YOU IMAGINE YOUR WALLET WAKING UP AFTER 12 YEARS?
A Bitcoin wallet that had been holding its funds for more than 12 years without moving them became active again on August 10, 2026.
The address received 26.96 $BTC on January 31, 2014, when Bitcoin was trading below US$1,000.
After 12.5 years of silence, the 26.96 BTC were sent all at once to a new address.
At the time, the funds were worth approximately US$1.7 million.
What’s most impressive is the performance: those Bitcoins were acquired when they were valued at around US$803 each. If we use the current value as a reference, the position had accumulated a gain close to 7,975%.
But there’s something important: the fact that the BTC were moved does NOT necessarily mean they were sold. Researchers noted that they were sent to a new address and there’s no confirmation that they arrived at an exchange.
And this wasn’t the only old wallet to wake up. Several addresses created in 2014 moved funds this week, accumulating more than 114 BTC across multiple transactions.
Cryptocurrencies: $BTC 💭 Imagine buying Bitcoin when it cost less than US$1,000, forgetting about it for more than a decade, and finding yourself today with a millionaire fortune.
If you had 26.96 BTC saved since 2014, what would you do?
In May 2010, when Bitcoin was still an experiment, a programmer named Laszlo Hanyecz posted on a forum that he wanted to buy food with BTC. His offer was simple: 10,000 BTC for two pizzas 🍕🍕 Someone accepted the deal and became the first person to make a real purchase with Bitcoin in history. At the time, those 10,000 BTC were worth almost nothing. Today, that same amount would be worth millions of dollars. 💡 The most important: It wasn't a mistake, it was a historic step. That pizza was the first demonstration that Bitcoin could be used as real money, not just a digital experiment.
