Dear BitTorrent community,
BitTorrent is launching a long-term BTT buyback and burn program in Q3 2026.
All revenue generated from BitTorrent’s decentralized services will be used to buy back BTT on a quarterly basis. Burn data for each quarter will be published in the middle of the first month in the following quarter — fully transparent and verifiable on-chain.
First Burn Schedule
1. Timeline:
Q3 2026: Begin batch buybacks.
Mid-October 2026: Complete the token burn and publish the data.
2. Source of Funds:
100% of the revenue from BitTorrent’s decentralized services.
With the launch of BTTInferGrid, these services are expected to generate additional revenue, steadily increasing the available buyback funds.
3. How It Works:
Q3 revenue from BitTorrent’s decentralized services will be used to buy back BTT tokens directly at market price.
All repurchased tokens will be sent to a burn address in mid-October and permanently removed from circulation.
Once completed, we will announce the total amount burned, its percentage of the total supply, and the on-chain transaction hash.
