Why I Reported Binance’s Artificial Engagement Problem — And Why It Matters Two months ago, I shared my feedback with Binance Customer Support and later received an “Accepted” notification. But the race for likes and comments on campaign posts continued. Why did I report it? First, fairness. Some creators were sharing campaign links in social media groups and exchanging hundreds of likes and comments to gain more points. Meanwhile, creators with genuinely good content but smaller networks often struggled to reach the leaderboard. Second, and more importantly, time. Imagine sharing your campaign post and getting 100 comments. You then reply to those comments and visit those users’ profiles to like and comment on their posts. This can easily turn into a 3–5 hour daily routine. Why? Because it becomes an exchange: “You engage with my post, I engage with yours.” Instead of spending that time researching, writing, and improving content, creators can end up maintaining an engagement network simply to stay competitive. That’s why I believe Binance’s recent action is a positive step. Binance has announced that 27 accounts are ineligible for rewards, while hundreds have received warnings. This doesn’t mean every creator with high engagement is doing something wrong. Genuine engagement is valuable and should always be encouraged. Two months ago, I shared my feedback with Binance Customer Support and later received an “Accepted” notification.

But the race for likes and comments on campaign posts continued.

Why did I report it?

First, fairness. Some creators were sharing campaign links in social media groups and exchanging hundreds of likes and comments to gain more points. Meanwhile, creators with genuinely good content but smaller networks often struggled to reach the leaderboard.

Second, and more importantly, time.

Imagine sharing your campaign post and getting 100 comments. You then reply to those comments and visit those users’ profiles to like and comment on their posts.

This can easily turn into a 3–5 hour daily routine.

Why? Because it becomes an exchange:

“You engage with my post, I engage with yours.”

Instead of spending that time researching, writing, and improving content, creators can end up maintaining an engagement network simply to stay competitive.

That’s why I believe Binance’s recent action is a positive step.

Binance has announced that 27 accounts are ineligible for rewards, while hundreds have received warnings.

This doesn’t mean every creator with high engagement is doing something wrong. Genuine engagement is valuable and should always be encouraged.

The real problem is artificial and organized engagement exchanges that can give some creators an unfair advantage.

If we want Binance Square to become a fairer and more transparent platform, we should report such practices and continue sharing constructive feedback.

At the end of the day, good content should have a fair chance to win—not the creator with the biggest engagement network.

Real conversation is what makes Binance Square worth being part of.

- Posting a high volume of repetitive, templated, AI-generated, or empty comments, far more than a normal user would, goes against our rules. In serious cases it can lead to losing monetization eligibility and being muted.
- The same goes for accounts that keep trading templated replies to fake engagement for points or rewards. It hurts your account health and reach, and serious cases can also lose monetization eligibility.

Based on the above, and since many of you have shared feedback about CreatorPad, we reviewed the award winners of the BABY CreatorPad. Here's what we found:

- 27 accounts were commenting at rates far beyond normal interaction. Their reward eligibility has been revoked, they've been flagged as a violation.
- 265 accounts were part of reciprocal spamming. They've been warned, and it's been noted on the account.

Binance Square is about real community interaction. We've added detection for meaningless comment spam, small-circle reciprocal commenting, and repeatedly asking others to leave comments. From this announcement on, it applies to all features and campaigns going forward, including the current CreatorPad campaigns. Anyone whose behavior falls into these patterns might lose reward eligibility.

It was how far this market had to climb just to look normal again. Price is around 78,735, up about 0.65% on the day. The 24-hour range is tight: 77,933 on the low, 79,384 on the high. Volume is decent at about 5.04B USDT, but it is not screaming. The longer picture is louder. This chart still carries that old high near 97,932 and that ugly low near 57,758. The rebound from that low is sharp. The 7-day average is sitting right on price around 78,771. The 25-day is way down at 70,334. The 99-day is even lower at 66,138. I've done KYC something like a dozen times by now. Same passport, same selfie, uploaded to a dozen different companies, sitting on a dozen different servers I'll never see again. Every one of those is a place my data could leak from. For years I figured "self-sovereign identity" was mostly a buzzword. IDs, verifiable credentials, wallet logins — none of it seemed to touch what actually matters for finance, which is proving you're allowed to do something without handing over everything about yourself. Then I read into how Citadel works on Dusk and it landed differently. It's not really an identity product. It's a license. You hold a license that says you meet whatever bar matters — accredited, KYC'd, cleared for a specific security. The network checks if you're holding a valid one before letting certain actions through. Not an exchange's internal database. The protocol itself. I think that's the part people skip past. Most "compliant" platforms just mean a company stored your documents somewhere and promises to keep them safe. Citadel seems to flip what actually gets checked. Instead of re-proving who you are every time, you're proving you hold something that was already validated once. Expiration, revocation, all of it tracked at the license level, not tied to fifteen copies of your passport scattered across random servers. I'm not sure this fixes compliance on its own. Regulators still have to trust however the initial licensing happened in the first place. But it does seem to shrink the actual attack surface. Heavy computation, slow syncing, basically unusable outside a proper desktop. So when I read about Phoenix's delegation model in the @Dusk_Foundation whitepaper, my first reaction was skepticism. Delegate the scanning, delegate the proof generation — sounds like handing your privacy over to someone else. Except that's not really what's happening. Turns out a view key only lets someone else scan the chain and flag which transactions are mine. Spending is a separate key entirely, one that never leaves my hands. Same logic applies to proof generation. Someone else can crunch the actual ZK proof, the expensive part, while my signature is still what makes the transaction valid. I think that's the detail that changed how I saw this. Custody and computation aren't the same thing here. Phoenix seems to split them apart on purpose. You can outsource the heavy lifting without outsourcing control over your funds. Practically, that might mean a lighter wallet, or even a phone, behaves like it's running the full privacy stack without actually carrying that load. For a network trying to attract institutions, this feels relevant beyond convenience. An exchange or infrastructure provider could offer scanning or proof-generation as a service on Dusk without ever becoming a custodian in the traditional sense. A friend asked me last week why I don't just use Monero if privacy is the whole point for me. I didn't have a quick answer. Sat with that question longer than I expected to, actually.
