After a decade of dormancy, Bitcoin "whales" stir up the market and transfer huge amounts of BTC
Recently, two long-dormant Bitcoin wallets suddenly became active. These two wallets purchased a total of 1,000 Bitcoins more than ten years ago when the price of Bitcoin was only $134. The wallet named "16vRq...qjzEa" took the lead in transferring 500 Bitcoins on May 12, followed by "DUJuH...NgfC5" who also transferred the same amount of Bitcoins. The current market value of these Bitcoins is as high as $61 million, which has increased by an astonishing 456 times compared to the price when they were purchased in 2013.
The sudden activity of these long-dormant wallets has attracted widespread attention from the market and analysts. People have speculated on the possible reasons behind these changes. Recently, many similar dormant wallets have been "awakened" and have become active in the market, transferring large amounts of Bitcoin. According to statistics, these wallets that have revived after dormancy account for 8.5% of all Bitcoin addresses. This phenomenon has undoubtedly brought new dynamics and observation points to the cryptocurrency market.
