Meta, formerly Facebook, is opening up its mixed-reality operating system, now dubbed Meta Horizon OS, to third-party developers. High-profile partners Asus, Lenovo, and Microsoft's Xbox brand are already on board. Asus's Republic of Gamers is developing a gaming headset, while Lenovo is set to build its own Meta Horizon OS devices. Microsoft's Xbox brand is creating a limited-edition Xbox-themed Meta Quest headset. Meta also plans to launch an "App Lab" for smaller developers, aiming to remove barriers between the Meta Horizon Store and App Lab.
