(Ho Chi Minh City/Hanoi) Vietnam's largest fraud and money laundering case has been sentenced. The richest woman in Vietnam and chairman of the real estate developer Van Thinh Phat Group, Truong My Lan, was sentenced to death.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Court announced on Thursday (April 11) that 67-year-old Truong My Lan was charged with corruption, bribery and violating credit institution loan regulations. Among them, she was sentenced to death for corruption and sentenced to 20 years in prison for the other two charges, with a total sentence of death.
