Odaily Planet Daily News Former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried appealed on Thursday after being found guilty of seven criminal charges. The former executive filed a notice of appeal with Judge Lewis Kaplan of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. According to court documents, the appeal involves his conviction and sentence. SBF was sentenced to nearly 25 years in prison on March 28 and was ordered to repay up to $11 billion in losses to investors and creditors. At the sentencing, Kaplan asserted that SBF had perjured himself at trial and said he knew his actions were wrong. SBF told the court during his sentencing that he made a "selfish decision," while adding that customers' funds were lost in a "liquidity crisis" caused by FTX employees' mismanagement of user accounts and the company's broader operations.
