While efforts to regulate cryptocurrencies continue, AK Party Group Chairman Abdullah Güler stated that they will submit the bill proposal to the Presidency of the Turkish Grand National Assembly after the Ramadan Feast. For the regulation, it is planned to impose a transaction tax in the cryptocurrency market.
While the Parliament is taking a break from its work for the March 31 local elections, preparations for the regulations planned to be brought to the agenda after the elections are continuing.
AK Party Group Chairman Güler said that after the completion of the studies carried out at the Ministry of Treasury and Finance regarding crypto assets, they, as the AK Party TBMM Group Chairmanship, started preparations for the bill.
Güler stated that they carried out a study with AK Party Deputy Chairman of Information and Communication Technologies Ömer İleri and members of parliament who have expertise in this field.

Güler stated that they aim to complete the work after the Eid al-Fitr, and then announced that they will submit the bill regarding crypto assets to the Presidency of the Turkish Grand National Assembly.
The regulation being worked on aims to reduce the risks of parties transacting with crypto assets in Turkey, similar to international practices.
LICENSE GRANTING PLAN BY CMB
Licensing of crypto asset trading platforms by the Capital Markets Board, with a regulation that will define crypto assets in a broad sense; It is planned to impose minimum operating conditions, similar to financial institutions.
With the enactment of the regulation on crypto assets and the start of licensing of crypto asset service providers, it is envisaged that the criticisms brought within the scope of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) technical standard No. 15 will be eliminated and Turkey will leave the "partially compliant" category.
