French luxury fashion house #LouisVuitton will soon launch a limited series #NFTs . The project is called #TreasureTrunks Each NFT is expected to cost about 41,712 USD. Customers will unlock chests to receive exclusive products and experiences.
According to a report in Vogue Business, “Treasure Trunks” will feature the iconic Louis Vuitton and include only “a few hundred” NFTs . Each “Treasure Trunks” will come with a matching physical Louis Vuitton trunk. All are produced to order. And each physical suitcase also costs tens of thousands of dollars.
NFTs will be soulbound. Which means they cannot be traded or transferred between individuals. Only the original owner of the Treasure Trunks Louis Vuitton can use it. Thereby accessing exclusive products, new products released early,...
Starting June 8, potential users will be able to sign up for the waiting list. This includes only residents of the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Japan and Australia. Only selected subscribers will then be invited by Louis Vuitton the following week to purchase Treasure Trunks. Transactions will take place in cryptocurrency or fiat on a dedicated website.
The Treasure Trunks collection is just the first in a series of projects called “Via” by Louis Vuitton. They will focus on giving exclusive and rare access to a select group of customers. That comes with very high costs.
