The SEC regained a victory, and the court ruled that #Ripple must pay US$1.95 billion and permanently ban institutional sales.

$XRP has to pay $1.95 billion

A few days ago, Ripple executives confirmed that the SEC asked a New York judge to impose a fine of $2 billion on Ripple. According to legal documents, after the court fully heard the relevant opinions, the judge approved the SEC's motion in the final judgment to issue the following order:

Ripple is required to return $876,308,712, which is the net profit from the violation of securities sales.

A civil penalty of $876,308,712 is payable under Section 20(d) of the Securities Act.

Ripple is also required to pay $198,150,940 in prejudgment interest.

In total, Ripple has to pay $1.95 billion.
