Preface

Gitcoin launched a new round of donation activity "The Gitcoin Grants Beta Round" on April 25. As an extension of the "Gitcoin Alpha Round" at the beginning of the year, this round's classification is more refined, and the number of projects is as high as 748. You must know that only 159 projects were selected for Alpha Round, and the scale this time is nearly five times that of the last time.

In order to reduce the time that partners spend looking at projects, this article will briefly introduce the game rules of this Gitcoin Beta Round, and introduce the original intention of establishing each category, as well as which projects are recommended and worthy of donation.

Friendly reminder: This article is a bit long, with over 10,000 words, so please read it carefully.

Quadratic Funding, also known as the square fundraising method, is also called CLR (Capital-constrained Liberal Radicalism). The core of this method lies in the reallocation of resources, and it mainly consists of the following two points:

  • A sum of funds waiting to be allocated, also known as a matching pool

  • A fundraiser to vote with your money

Individuals or public welfare organizations who want to sponsor the community will sponsor funds into the matching pool, so that these funds can be effectively allocated according to the preferences of the community.

If you want to know more, it is recommended to read "Square Fundraising Method: A Tax System to Support the Development of Public Wealth" by Xu Mingen and "What I Talked About with AI Today | Square Fundraising Law" by He Ya.

in conclusion

Gitcoin's donation activities can help many new projects obtain financial support, allowing these projects to operate and develop more stably; in addition, such activities also promote exchanges and cooperation between projects, further improving the quality and reliability of products. It not only helps solve problems existing in the blockchain industry, but also promotes the development of the blockchain industry. Although many people are talking about Gitcoin, you have to admit that Gitcoin donation activities are of great significance in the blockchain industry and can bring many advantages and benefits to the development of the industry.

Blockchain technology brings the possibility of transparency and fairness to the management and distribution of public wealth, which is an exciting development. Let community members better understand the allocation of resources. In addition, blockchain technology can also achieve decentralized management of public assets and allow community members to participate in management and decision-making. This can not only reduce the participation of central agencies, but also improve the efficiency and fairness of management. We can look forward to more excellent projects emerging in the future to bring more public value to society.

However, most people on the Internet are now accustomed to obtaining information and tools for free, but they forget that such public tools and services need to be developed and maintained by someone. Donations are regarded as public goods, just like doing charity, and no one forces them to do so. You, just like it and be willing to do it. In fact, there are still many teams and people who are silently working hard for the blockchain industry. These people's contributions for free are taken as a matter of course. Some people are also attacked by cyber violence. This is really unjustifiable. Therefore, we should give more encouragement and response to those creators and developers who are willing to share information and build; life is uncomfortable enough, there is no need to treat everything with negative energy.

Finally, if after reading this article, you find which project’s ideals and original intentions you like, you might as well support them with a flick of your finger.
